Well, day 2 started out where we went looking for small dorado some 25+ miles off shore. The good news is we had dolphin jumping all around the boat as we looked around. My shots are "after" versions, Joe has one still in the air if I can get it from him. 3 hours later we were still looking. Then we went to a spot I love to fish and had one huge roosterfish swim by and a few huge cabrilla jump after our tossed over sardinas. We moved into the shallows, about 20 yards off the beach and saw a big bait ball……and three enormous roosterfish that swam by the boat and did not even take the chummed sardinas. I finally took the skunk off the boat with a burrito grunt. Yeah! Then we chased some sargasso. that's what the dorado hide under and I caught a 12 inch yellowtail…..broke the tip landing it. Now this rod has done 2 fly shop demos and may have even hit the ceiling fan in my Baja room. Hint-hint. So not sure what happened but it was not rod error. We'll be back at it tomorrow.
